A serving Thames Valley Police constable, PC Brendon Dowd, has been charged in connection with an allegation of sexual assault while off duty. PC Dowd was charged on 12 May with one count of sexual assault by touching of a woman aged over 16, in connection with an incident in St Mary’s Butts, Reading, on 14 April last year. PC Dowd, who is based at Reading police station, is currently suspended from duty. PC Dowd is due to appear before Guildford Magistrates’ Court on 16 June.
