Reading Festival Returns

Reading Festival is rolling into town again next week, with young people attending the three-day event being asked to look out for each other, and residents being reminded to plan ahead to dodge the traffic queues.

As usual, temporary traffic management will be in place at various locations. Please look out for signage. The Council has again worked with the festival organisers to produce travel information which is made available to festival-goers and the general public at https://www.readingfestival.com/info#travel.

For personal safety, festival-goers are advised to check the “Personal Safety” section of the festival website at https://www.readingfestival.com/info#safety. This includes information on:

• Download the official festival app to keep up to date with set times, announcements, maps and special offers.
• AIR Hubs will be located across campsites and arena, providing a 24-hour facility for assistance, information, and response.

Festival-goers are also being asked to look out for each other throughout the three-day event. If you are feeling unsure, unwell or unsafe, head to an AIR hub for help.

Staying Green

Residents can read all about how Festival Republic is working to minimise the impact of the event on the environment and how festival-goers can help at https://www.readingfestival.com/info#staying-green. Festival goers are particularly asked to take their tents home with them and pack wisely and only bring essential items.

Reading Council will again be placing a glass bottle bank for shoppers and festival-goers to use over the weekend directly outside the front entrance to the ALDI store at Vastern Court, Vastern Road.
