A 72-year-old man from Slough has been sentenced to six months in prison for a knife offence. Rudy Hansell, of Bath Road in Slough, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a bladed article in a public place at Reading Magistrates’ Court. He was arrested after being spotted by PC Saunders in Slough High Street with what appeared to be a concealed knife or blade around his neck. Hansell was charged and taken to court the following day. Investigating officer PC Thomas Saunders said: Knife crime has a significant impact on our communities and we take any reports or sightings of bladed articles extremely seriously. In this case, a potentially dangerous weapon was removed from a public place, helping to keep people in Slough safe. We will continue to act robustly against those who carry knives and put others at risk.
