Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a serious injury road traffic collision in Thatcham. The collision occurred at around 7.43pm on Saturday 18 July at the junction of Urquhart Road and Station Road.

A cyclist, a woman in her forties, was involved in a collision with a commercial vehicle believed to be a 7.5-tonne van. The vehicle failed to stop at the scene and left the area following the collision.

The cyclist sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where she remains in a serious condition.

Investigating officer PC Matthew Fairman, of the Roads Policing Unit, said:

“We are carrying out a thorough investigation to identify the vehicle involved and establish the circumstances of this collision. I am appealing to anybody who witnessed the collision, or who was driving in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage, to please get in touch.

PC Fairman added:

I am also keen to hear from anybody with CCTV covering Station Road towards Thatcham town centre, as the vehicle may have been captured travelling through the area after the collision. If you have any information which may assist our investigation, please contact Thames Valley Police.
